Appointment times

Our opening hours for appointments are from Monday to Sunday (except bank holidays) between 9am and 5pm.

Bookings are strictly by appointment only.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring with you:

  • a valid passport, or
  • a full photo driving licence
  • proof of address (eg utility bill - but not a mobile phone bill, bank statement, council tax bill)

If your passport is being held by the Home Office, we can accept a photocopy of your passport ID page together with an officially stamped letter. You can also request for your passport to be released from the Home Office for 24 hours.

We usually provide the fingerprint forms you need, however certain countries may require their own specific forms. If you need clearance for:

  • Canada
  • Japan
  • South Africa
  • US

you may need to get these forms before your visit and give them to the Fingerprints Office.

Women wanting clearance for Iran must provide photographs that show:

  • their head covered
  • their face uncovered
  • no smiling

Iranian authorities won’t accept anything else.

How much does it cost?

One set of fingerprints: £95.64 inc VAT.
Each additional set: £47.76 inc VAT.

Please note: some fingerprint fees are subject to VAT, except certain HMRC exemptions. The exempted countries include Japan, UAE/Qatar, Canada, Jamaica, Abu Dhabi, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Zambia and St Vincent and The Grenadines.

Please pay with cash in the exact amount, or cheque, at the time of the appointment. We don't accept debit or credit cards.
